  Recent Research Issues

  Stability analysis for power systems with high renewable energy penetration rate
- The uncertainty of renewable energy generation level might cause the difference system operating point between the scheduled condition and actual one. Quick assessment on the impact on system stability for some critical cases by this difference is needed in system operation. The next figure shows one example of assessment in terms of small signal stability.

  ESS Application for power system stability improvement
- In the cases where the local system with much generation has not enough transmission, it might experience rotor angle instability due to critical power imbalance as shown in the following figure. With adquage ESS control in the area, it is possible to get the local system stabilized directly consuming the additional energy stored in the local generators.
