System operational efficiency
needs to be maximized within the secure operation region. In addition, for specific purposes in system
operation and planning stage, several control parameters need to be well-coordinated covering diverse system
conditions. Thus the application of optimization to power systems is needed to obtain solutions
to operation and planning problems.
